Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. (Psalm 103:2 NLT)
It is an amazing thought that God is involved in our lives. Why would He be? Why should He be? What is so special about us? What is so significant about you or me?
Love is the answer to these questions. Not our love, but His. He came looking for us in love. He came to rescue, redeem, renew and revive our lives. He came to bring abundant life, a life that overflows with His goodness. He came to bring hope when all we had was the inevitability of our own mortality.
I am writing this short message just to remind us that praise is the only proper response to all that has been done for us. Not simply a song of praise, but a life of praise, worship and celebration of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God Almighty came to die in our place so that He might bring us back to Him. He had to judge and condemn sin so He made Himself to be the one who bore His own judgment, sparing us from that which we could never return from.
As we push through each day let us remember what it took for us to be able to call Him Savior, to call Him Lord.
He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.”
After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you. (Luke 22:19-20 NLT)
Regardless of your situation the love of God has been extended to you. Regardless of your current relationship with the Lord or your level of obedience to His Word the love of God has been extended to you. There is nothing you can do to change the fact that God loves you (Romans 8:38). It is a love that was given while you and I were the enemies of God (Romans 5:8). You are loved perfectly and eternally. It is this love that compelled our Savior to the cross and it is this love that continuously reaches out to you.
May you know the powerful love of God each and every day.
